Although can be considered a Soft Tissue Injury, a back injury is usually associated with manual materials handling. A back injury prevention seminar is specifically designed educate the employer and employee about risks and identify solutions to reduce the number and severity for back injury. Solutions are but not limited to the following:
• Eliminate heavy MMH
• Decrease MMH demands
• Reduce stressful body movements
• Pace of work and rest breaks
• Improve environmental conditions
A visual and auditory presentation to a group of employees for the purpose of educating main risk factors of back injury. The seminar usually takes about 1.5 hours and covers spine and musculature anatomy, risk factors, and back injury prevention strategies including proper lifting body mechanics.
